Dalton Kellett was born in Toronto, Ontario on August 19th 1993. With a lifelong passion for racing, he began karting at 14. He climbed the Canadian and international go-karting ranks and competed in the Road to Indy open-wheel development program. In 2020, he is making his step onto the top-level of the sport, the NTT IndyCar Series, with AJ Foyt Racing.
His passion for academics and STEM has been coupled with racing. Balancing education and racing was a cornerstone of his go-karting and junior open wheel career. Dalton graduated from the Toronto French School in 2011, with a bilingual IB diploma, and from Queen’s University in 2015, with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics.
Transitioning from a student to a spokesperson, he has teamed up with STEM organizations to use racing to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and thinkers. In 2018, Dalton partnered with Ten80 Education as brand spokesperson for their K-12 engineering design challenge, the National STEM League.
Stepping into his rookie season in IndyCar, he is poised to make his mark as a new breed of race car driver.
